About

Hi there 👋🏻
My name is Michelle.
I'm a Software Engineer, mostly working with back-end services and database.
I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Math and Statistics at the University of Toronto.
I’m interning at Scotiabank this Fall 🍂 and Winter ❄️, working with their API Engineering team.
In my free time, I enjoy weightlifting, rock-climbing, boxing, trying out fitness studios in the city, sipping overpriced latte, and hanging out with friends.
I am also a novice reader and traveler.

My Passion

I find joy in making a positive impact on people’s lives!
I love using my skills to build cool and interesting products that make people’s lives easier.
Currently, I am doing research on Human Computer Interaction and exploring ways to make CS education better for everyone!

Bio

I grew up in Soc Trang, a small, rural city in Southern Vietnam, and fell in love with programming at a young age by learning Pascal. When I turned 18, I traveled over 14,000 km from home to Canada on my own to study Computer Programming and Analysis at Seneca College. Later, I transferred to the University of Toronto, majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics. After years of studying and working in one of the most diverse and multicultural cities in the world, I now proudly call Toronto my home.
